The food was excellent. The service was great. The bathroom was extremely unbelievably small not so clean but you go there to eat not use the bathroom. Definitely not handicap accessible for the bathroom.

Our first stop after arriving to Portland from Boston. Friendly, welcoming service and delicious food. The nachos were hands down the best we’ve ever had out - the perfect crispyness and not soggy at all. I got a delicious salad and we also devoured the blue cheese burger. Highly recommend. Shays was also pretty busy for an off time on a Friday afternoon, which is a testament to the food as well as the service.

We got burgers, chicken tenders, and the fish and chips. Everything was decent. The fries were nice and crispy. Emily, our server, was very attentive and helpful.

The fried chicken sandwich special was amazing! The chicken was breaded and fried perfectly and the seasonings were mouth watering. They also have some of the best fries I have ever had. Quick service and everyone was so friendly. Would definitely go back next time in Portland.

A great chill local spot that’s great for when you want a juicy burger, a classic sandwich, and a cold drink. Reliable and low key and where I go when I have a sandwich / burger craving that needs to be satisfied. The garlic fries are so crispy and amazing I’m drooling thinking about them.

The way Portland used to be... Simple unassuming bar with incredibly good food. It's been sitting right in front of you on Monument Square forever, why haven't you been there? I loved my chicken sandwich and my companion loved their haddock. The cole slaw and fries were also first rate. Go and enjoy!

Wednesday, 3:30 pm! Several places closed and a hunger for good food and a drink guided us to Shay’s Grill Pub! Hostess/bartender directed us to hard chairs and when we requested booth big enough for six she recognized elders looking for comfort and graciously seated us at a comfy booth. We ordered Lemon Drop Martini and a beer, both were very good. Then ordered the Caramelized pear and Blue Cheese Quesadilla and Steak and
Portobello quesadilla, both were excellent and delicious! This is a great little place with great food, good drinks and a happy clientele. Lots of regulars! We will be back! More things
to try!

Very friendly staff, decent food, great prices but a little loud. Was still fun either way. Wish the steak tips came with more than 6 small pieces but for the price I can’t complain. Would try again.

I dined with my husband and friends for the first time last night at this establishment. Everything from staff, atmosphere, food was exceptional! I hope to return again very soon. Food was phenomenal! TY
