It's a pub, in a good way. Their fries are so, so good! A local gem, and terrific lunch or casual dinner spot.

This has been our favorite burger bar since we’ve moved to Portland three years ago. The service is personable yet professional. The food is delicious and the drinks hit the spot and often have great new additions show up on their menu! They have daily drink specials and they actually remember their regulars. This place is like a modern day Cheers: “Where everybody knows your name”. Love this place

I have never had a complaint about Shays. Everything I have had is pretty good to great quality. I am not bouncing off the walls over one thing but they do a good job of what they have. Friendly and attentive enough service, nothing too extra which I appreciate. Last time I went in I sat at the bar and ordered a drink and an app and had a nice stop in the middle of shopping. I'd probably be a regular if I lived closer. Check them out!

Wow, looking for something different. Their Nashville chicken sandwich...perfect and the crispy fries!! Great drink menu and $5 martinis!! The staff is friendly and professional! Its a small space-but so worth it! Coop and his staff know what they're is going!! We'll be back!

Stopped here while looking for parking downtown Portland. Just stumbled on it really. Great food and service. Has a great bar atmosphere. Good beer and drinks. Food menu is varied and not the typical bar food. Service was excellent.

The service and food was good. We tried to go to this place many times in the past and there's always a line out the door. We finally got a seat at the bar one night and I have no complaints.

The food was excellent. The service was great. The bathroom was extremely unbelievably small not so clean but you go there to eat not use the bathroom. Definitely not handicap accessible for the bathroom.

Our first stop after arriving to Portland from Boston. Friendly, welcoming service and delicious food. The nachos were hands down the best we’ve ever had out - the perfect crispyness and not soggy at all. I got a delicious salad and we also devoured the blue cheese burger. Highly recommend. Shays was also pretty busy for an off time on a Friday afternoon, which is a testament to the food as well as the service.
